Mix 675g flour, 3 tsp baking powder, a pinch of salt, and 80g sugar.
Rub in 150g soft butter until the mixture looks like breadcrumbs.
Slowly mix in 450ml milk until a dough forms.
Rest for 10 mins.
Roll out to 2cm thick, then fold in half to make 4cm thick.
Cut out the scones, brush with beaten egg, and bake at 200°C fan for 15 mins.
Serve with cream and jam.
